The journey from Israel to Mount Sinai (Egypt)

Our day began as usual with a sumptuous breakfast and we were all set to say a bye to Israel. Mr  Paul (proprietor Zion Tours & Travel) informed us that it would be an 8 hour drive to Mount Sinai and Mr  Hani would accompany us till Taba Border and we would have a new coach and new guide waiting for us on the other side of the border.

We began our journey with a small prayer which was followed by The Rosary. Our first halt was at a small eatery near the Dead Sea. We stretched a bit and garbed a coffee. and began a beautiful journey through the Dead Sea. Our next stop was at Sodom and Gomorrah Lot’s Wife Pillar of Salt.

We reached the Taba boarder said a final bye to Mr. Hani who share his knowledge and did a fantastic job. We walked to the immigration counters and completed the proceeding and waited for our coach and convey which would escort us to Mount Sinai.
We were not allowed to take any pictures at the border crossing for security purpose.

We halted for lunch and proceeded through the scenic landscape of Egypt.

After a long drive we finally reached St. Catherine’s Monastery in Mount Sinai Egypt which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Monastery is known as a place where God appeared to Moses in the Burning Bush, beneath the Mount of the Ten Commandments.

We stopped at the foot hill of the Monastery as the coach was not allowed to go till the monastery and we had to hire local transport.
